Know latest trends in food technology
Chennai: Aahar Chennai, the premier event of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Tamilnadu Trade Promotion Organisation will take place from 15 to 17 September at Chennai Trade Centre.
Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, ITPO DGM D K Nangia said the three day B2B event focusing on food technology is being organised with the support of Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
More than 115 leading Indian companies are taking part in the exhibition. Covering an area of 4400 sq mts, the display profi le of products includes bakery and dairy products, organic and health products, frozen canned and processed food, meat, poultry and sea food, syrups, juices and energy drinks and much more.
A couple of seminars would be held during the three day event which would make it more special, said Nangia.
Entrepreneurs development and emerging technologies in bakery industry, purchase connect, technology up-gradation and modernisation of food processing industries-challenges and opportunities, doís and donít for chefs, housekeepers connect are the topics to be discussed at the seminar.
Food and Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI), Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA), Southern India Culinary Association (SICA) are among the organisations associated with the event, he said.
Meanwhile, South India Culinary Association (SICA) will also be conducting its fourth edition of culinary competition from 15 to 17 September at the same venue.
SICA general secretary, Sheetaram Prasad, said the chief objective behind the event is to establish a platform where chefs and culinary professionals can showcase their talent.
The competition will be held in seven categories - individual competition, practical cooking, apprentice, cocktail/mocktail, tablecover display, towel art and culinary team challenge (edible buffet).
